This updated legal framework aims to align Chad with global best practices and strengthen the nation’s digital sovereignty by ensuring greater control over its data and digital infrastructure.

The Ministry of Telecommunications, Digital Economy and Digitalization of the Administration in Chad has launched the 3rd edition of the Chad School of Internet Governance (TCSIG). The event, jointly organized by ADETIC and HOUSE OF AFRICA, took place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Hotel de la Place in N’Djamena. The initiative is designed to strengthen the development of information and communication technologies while supporting Chad’s youth in adapting to ongoing digital transformation.

During the opening ceremony, the Director General of ADETIC, Adoum Djimet Saboun, highlighted the critical role of digital technology as a central pillar of development. He stressed the importance of expanding training programmes to embed digitalization across all levels of society. He also noted that the Chad School of Internet Governance offers young people essential opportunities to build strong digital skills.

Minister Dr Boukar Michel reaffirmed the government’s commitment to placing digital transformation at the centre of public policy, driven by the vision of Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno. He stated that digital technologies are expected to serve as key engines for human, economic, and social development across the country.

The minister also emphasized the ongoing development of a new digital code incorporating international standards in cybersecurity, data protection, and internet governance. This updated legal framework aims to align Chad with global best practices and strengthen the nation’s digital sovereignty by ensuring greater control over its data and digital infrastructure.
