The approved budget prioritizes key initiatives such as acquiring 5G and satellite internet control equipment, expanding the equipment certification laboratory, enhancing staff skills, and upgrading material and logistical resources.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Board (TRB) convened its 57th ordinary and 67th extraordinary meetings on 9 and 10 December 2025 at the LAGON Hotel in Kribi, chaired by Professor Justine DIFFO née TCHUNKAM.

During the 57th Ordinary Session, the Board reviewed the TRB’s interim Annual Performance Report as of 15 November 2025, highlighting extensive activities undertaken during the year. The Board approved the TRB’s 2026 Administration Performance Project (PPA), which projects total revenues and expenditures of 77.5 billion FCFA—a 5.44% increase—including 46 billion FCFA allocated to the Public Treasury and other beneficiary organizations.

The approved budget prioritizes key initiatives such as acquiring 5G and satellite internet control equipment, expanding the equipment certification laboratory, enhancing staff skills, and upgrading material and logistical resources. The Board also approved the establishment of a coastal station in Kribi to address the growing maritime traffic and communications needs.

Addressing sector challenges, the Board urged Management to recover outstanding debts from concession-holding operators CAMTEL and VIETTEL Cameroun, network operators, and diplomatic missions, warning that these arrears threaten the sector’s development.

In the 67th Extraordinary Session, the Board commended the draft Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, the TRB Information Systems Security Policy, and updates on the newly created TRB units. Management was praised for the quality of documents presented and encouraged to continue updating processes to strengthen the Board’s regulatory performance.
