Zain KSA and Groq Introduce High-Performance AI Platform Developed in Saudi Arabia

Zain KSA, one of Saudi Arabia’s leading telecommunications and digital services providers, has entered a strategic partnership with Groq to introduce the Groq Local AI Inference Platform in the Kingdom. Fully developed within Saudi Arabia, the platform is engineered to deliver high-performance AI inference while supporting the deployment and acceleration of AI applications across multiple cloud environments.
The collaboration strengthens Zain KSA’s long-term strategy to drive innovation and reinforce its role in advancing the Kingdom’s digital transformation. By investing in next-generation technologies and building global partnerships, Zain KSA continues to support the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030. The initiative contributes to developing a modern digital infrastructure that underpins a smart, diversified economy and empowers various sectors to expand and innovate.
As part of the agreement, Zain KSA will enhance its cloud ecosystem—Zain Cloud—by integrating Groq’s cutting-edge AI inference capabilities. This move positions Saudi Arabia as a growing hub for sustainable AI and cloud technologies. It also supports national goals to localize advanced digital infrastructure, ensuring compliance with local data regulations and enabling developers and enterprises to build, deploy, and scale AI applications seamlessly within the country.
Commenting on the partnership, Zain KSA’s Chief Business and Wholesale Officer, Eng. Fahad bin Sahmi Al-Sahmah, and VP of B2B Sales, Majed bin Hamad Al-Otaibi, emphasized the company’s commitment to attracting groundbreaking digital innovations and localizing them to serve the Kingdom’s needs. They noted that embedding Groq’s ultra-fast inference technology directly into Zain Cloud marks a major milestone for Saudi Arabia’s AI ecosystem, enabling enterprises to adopt intelligent solutions that meet the highest standards of speed, security, and regulatory compliance. They added that Zain KSA plans to launch AI-Solutions-as-a-Service (AIaaS) through a SaaS model, giving customers access to advanced AI tools without upfront capital investment.
Groq’s VP and Managing Director for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, Fahad AlTurief, highlighted that the partnership introduces Groq’s advanced Language Processing Unit (LPU)–based inference technology to a rapidly evolving market that is shaping the future of global AI. He noted that Saudi Arabia’s focus on building strong digital infrastructure makes it an ideal environment for deploying Groq’s solutions, enabling developers, enterprises, and government entities to accelerate their digital transformation.
With this partnership, Zain KSA becomes one of the first providers to offer Groq’s AI services to government institutions. The move underscores Zain KSA’s strategic role in scaling artificial intelligence nationwide and advancing cloud adoption across public-sector entities.
