The expansion programme will see 406 new network sites rolled out nationwide. Of these, 121 sites are already operational, while the remaining 285 are scheduled for completion by March 2026.

Airtel Zambia PLC  has announced a landmark US$107 million network expansion, marking the company’s largest single-year infrastructure investment. The initiative aims to strengthen coverage, improve service reliability, and enhance the customer experience across Zambia.

The expansion programme will see 406 new network sites rolled out nationwide. Of these, 121 sites are already operational, while the remaining 285 are scheduled for completion by March 2026. The rollout focuses on reducing network congestion, extending coverage, and enhancing resilience in high-demand and critical areas such as schools, hospitals, and clinics.

At a media roundtable in Lusaka, Airtel Zambia Managing Director Hussam Baday reaffirmed the company’s commitment to Zambia’s digital growth, noting that the investment responds directly to customer feedback and the growing need for reliable connectivity.

As additional sites come online, customers can expect faster data speeds, clearer voice calls, and greater network availability, reflecting Airtel’s focus on delivering a stronger and more resilient network for all users.

Mr. Baday also highlighted improvements in power availability over the past week, expressing hope that this would continue to support the company and its tower partners in stabilizing the network experience.
