Commvault and Delinea Partner to Strengthen Credential Security and Cyber Resilience
The collaboration integrates Delinea’s Secret Server with the Commvault Cloud platform, enabling joint customers to strengthen credential security, support compliance requirements, and streamline secure data recovery operations.
Commvault, a global provider of unified resilience solutions at enterprise scale, has announced a new partnership and technology integration with Delinea, a leading privileged access management (PAM) company. The collaboration integrates Delinea’s Secret Server with the Commvault Cloud platform, enabling joint customers to strengthen credential security, support compliance requirements, and streamline secure data recovery operations.
The partnership addresses growing risks around credential security, particularly as organizations increasingly rely on non-human machine identities used by applications, scripts, and automated services. In the Middle East alone, nearly 37% of reported cybersecurity incidents in 2025 involved compromised or misused privileged identities, highlighting how stolen or abused credentials can give attackers prolonged and often undetected access to critical systems.
Through the integration, Commvault extends advanced privileged access management capabilities directly into its cloud platform. Organizations can centralize the storage, governance, and automated rotation of credentials for backup and recovery environments within a unified secrets vault. This approach reduces operational complexity and helps eliminate unmanaged or orphaned accounts that are commonly exploited by attackers.
The solution also introduces Just-in-Time (JIT) access, allowing temporary credentials to be automatically issued for backup or restore jobs and revoked immediately after use. In addition, enhanced auditing and compliance features enforce least-privilege access controls and generate detailed audit logs, helping organizations meet regulatory requirements such as SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR while maintaining full visibility over identity activity.
By combining secure credential management with resilient data protection, the integration helps organizations reduce downtime risk, strengthen compliance postures, improve IT efficiency, and respond more quickly to cyber threats. Commvault and Delinea say the partnership reinforces the importance of securing not just data, but also the identities and access mechanisms that protect recovery processes.
The Commvault Cloud integration with Delinea is available globally at no additional cost. The partnership forms part of Commvault’s broader strategy to expand its security ecosystem and equip IT and security teams with stronger defenses against increasingly sophisticated, identity-driven cyber threats.
