Galaxy Backbone Unveils 2025–2028 Strategy to Drive Nigeria’s Digital Transformation

At the heart of this transformation is Galaxy Backbone (GBB),  which earlier this year unveiled its Integrated Digital Transformation Strategy (IDTS) 2025–2028. The strategy goes beyond aspirations, serving as a practical blueprint for a smarter, safer, and more citizen-focused digital ecosystem.

The IDTS introduces refreshed mission and vision statements that reflect GBB’s readiness for a rapidly changing technological landscape. The Five Pillars Driving GBB’s Strategic Vision

• Resilient Digital Infrastructure: GBB is expanding and modernising the National ICT Infrastructure Backbone (NICTIB), deploying energy-efficient and solar-powered connectivity nationwide to make reliable digital access universal.
• Integrated Digital Ecosystems: Through platforms such as the Government Data Exchange (GDX), GBB is enabling seamless interoperability, giving government agencies secure, coordinated systems that improve governance and decision-making.
• Innovative Service Delivery: User experience is prioritised, with unified portals, digital identity systems, and emerging technologies like AI helping deliver efficient, citizen-friendly digital services.
• Digital Leadership & Trust: In response to evolving cyber threats, GBB is strengthening national cybersecurity capabilities, scaling its Security Operations Center (SOC), and building workforce capacity to safeguard Nigeria’s digital space.
• Financial Sustainability & Value Creation: GBB is unlocking new revenue streams, expanding partnerships, diversifying services, and adopting innovative funding models to ensure long-term impact and value for government, businesses, and citizens.
