The NCSI’s data underscores Oman’s ongoing digital transformation, driven by rising mobile adoption, expanding broadband networks, and growing IoT connectivity across the country.

Oman’s telecommunications sector continues to show strong growth, according to the latest data from the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI). By the end of October 2025, total mobile subscriptions in the Sultanate reached 8,045,400, marking an 11.3 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Postpaid mobile subscriptions rose by 1.9 percent to 1,260,429, while prepaid subscriptions grew by 3.0 percent to 5,200,770. The Internet of Things (IoT) segment saw significant expansion, with subscriptions jumping 68.0 percent to 1,584,201.

Internet services also recorded notable growth. Active mobile broadband subscriptions increased to 5,432,686, while fixed broadband subscriptions rose by 3.6 percent to 595,692. Fiber-optic (FTTH/B) subscriptions grew 12.4 percent to 351,432, and 5G fixed subscriptions saw a modest increase of 0.5 percent to 219,751, whereas fixed 4G subscriptions declined sharply by 51.3 percent to 12,621.

Other internet services experienced mixed trends. Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) subscriptions dropped by 37.9 percent to 10,237, satellite subscriptions increased 35.5 percent to 904, and other subscription types—including Internet via power lines, Ethernet, and leased lines—fell 11.0 percent to 747.

The NCSI’s data underscores Oman’s ongoing digital transformation, driven by rising mobile adoption, expanding broadband networks, and growing IoT connectivity across the country.
