Cohesity Expands Collaboration with Google Cloud to Advance AI, Cybersecurity, and Data Sovereignty
The expanded collaboration enables organizations to unlock greater value from their enterprise data through AI-ready platforms while maintaining secure, compliant, and sovereign data environments.
Cohesity has announced an expanded collaboration with Google Cloud aimed at delivering new integrated solutions across artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data protection. Building on existing product integrations, the partnership is designed to strengthen cyber resilience, protect sensitive data, and support enterprise AI adoption while ensuring compliance with growing data sovereignty requirements.
The expanded collaboration enables organizations to unlock greater value from their enterprise data through AI-ready platforms while maintaining secure, compliant, and sovereign data environments. By combining Cohesity’s AI-powered data security with Google Cloud’s advanced AI, cybersecurity, and infrastructure capabilities, the joint solutions aim to support digital transformation without compromising data protection.
A key focus of the partnership is accelerating insights from enterprise data. Organizations can already use Google’s Gemini models to power Cohesity Gaia, an enterprise AI assistant that enables natural language searches across unstructured data in cloud and on-premises environments. Planned enhancements include embedding Google Cloud’s Vertex AI Search into Cohesity Gaia, delivering faster, citation-backed answers sourced from Cohesity’s immutable data lake. A Google Cloud–hosted version of Cohesity Gaia is now available, improving performance, availability, and response speed through Google Cloud’s global infrastructure.
The collaboration also strengthens cybersecurity capabilities. The Cohesity Data Cloud integrates Google Threat Intelligence to help organizations detect, investigate, and eradicate cyber threats within enterprise data environments. High-fidelity indicators of compromise support proactive threat hunting and clean recovery operations. In addition, Cohesity’s Cyber Event Response Team works alongside Google Cloud’s Mandiant Incident Response team to help customers recover quickly from major cyber incidents. Deeper integration with Google Security Operations is planned to automate workflows, surface threats hidden in backup data, and reduce response times.
Addressing rising global data sovereignty requirements is another central pillar of the partnership. Cohesity has been certified as a Google Cloud Ready – Regulated & Sovereignty Solutions partner, allowing enterprises to deploy Cohesity Data Cloud within Google Cloud’s Data Boundary to meet residency and regulatory requirements. Cohesity FortKnox, the company’s cyber vaulting solution, enables immutable and isolated data copies to be stored within specific geographic regions, ensuring sovereign control while maintaining strong cyber resilience.
The partnership further expands data protection for Google Cloud workloads. Cohesity DataProtect supports key services such as Google Compute Engine, Google Cloud Storage, and multiple databases, with immutable backups stored either in Google Cloud or on customer infrastructure. Expanded support for GKE, BigQuery, and other data-centric services, along with enhanced regional storage options, offers greater flexibility to meet resilience and compliance needs. All Cohesity Data Cloud components are available through the Google Cloud Marketplace.
In addition to technology integration, Cohesity and Google Cloud will launch joint go-to-market programs, co-selling initiatives, and integrated marketing efforts. Some features referenced in the announcement are planned or unreleased and may be subject to change or future availability.
