Galaxy Backbone Safeguards Over 300 Government Websites Across Nigeria

January 5, 2026
2 min read

Galaxy Backbone described itself as a trusted provider of national-grade cybersecurity, reinforcing its commitment to protecting Nigeria’s digital operations and strengthening confidence in government digital services.

Galaxy Backbone  has reaffirmed its role as a critical partner in safeguarding Nigeria’s digital infrastructure, highlighting its extensive cybersecurity capabilities designed to protect government systems, data, and public-facing services from growing cyber threats.

As cyberattacks increasingly target public institutions, Galaxy Backbone emphasized that organisations across the country face daily risks ranging from service disruption and data exposure to loss of public trust. The company noted that its cybersecurity services are structured to help government agencies focus on service delivery while ensuring their digital assets remain secure.

Galaxy Backbone disclosed that it has successfully protected more than 300 government websites from defacement, hijacking, and unauthorized takeover. This track record, the company said, reflects deep operational insight into the threat landscape facing government platforms and the practical expertise required to prevent incidents before they escalate.

At the core of its cybersecurity offering is a 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC), which provides round-the-clock monitoring for suspicious activity, enabling early threat detection, rapid response, and reduced downtime. Complementing this are Managed Security Services that ensure government systems remain continuously updated and actively defended without overburdening internal IT teams.

The organisation also provides Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) to proactively identify and close security gaps before they can be exploited by attackers. In the event of a cyber incident, Galaxy Backbone’s Incident Response team is positioned to act immediately to contain threats, restore services, and protect sensitive data.

In addition, Galaxy Backbone supports Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) requirements, helping organisations align with Nigeria’s cybersecurity frameworks, the Cybercrime Act, and other regulatory obligations. Advanced threat intelligence, log aggregation, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools further enhance visibility and control across government digital environments.
