Galaxy Backbone Unveils Trusted Government Cloud to Power Nigeria’s Digital Transformation

Galaxy Backbone described GxCP as Nigeria’s government-grade cloud, built to sustain critical public services and enable digital governance at scale.

Galaxy Backbone  has reaffirmed its commitment to secure and reliable digital governance with the promotion of the Galaxy Backbone Cloud Platform (GxCP), a purpose-built Government Private Cloud designed to support Nigeria’s public sector digital transformation.

As government institutions increasingly rely on digital platforms to deliver essential services, Galaxy Backbone emphasized that trust, security, and resilience remain central to successful transformation. Unlike generic commercial cloud services, GxCP is engineered specifically to meet the performance, data protection, and regulatory needs of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The platform delivers scalable computing through Elastic Compute Services, enabling organisations to adjust resources in line with operational demand while avoiding the cost of unused capacity. GxCP supports diverse workloads through general, compute-optimised, and memory-optimised virtual machines, ensuring consistent performance across a wide range of government applications.

Data security and service continuity form the backbone of the platform. GxCP offers secure block and object storage, reinforced by daily and incremental backups to protect sensitive government data. Built-in disaster recovery capabilities enable rapid service restoration during disruptions, helping MDAs maintain uninterrupted public service delivery.

To ensure secure and reliable access, the platform provides VPN connectivity and intelligent load balancing, keeping applications responsive and protected as usage scales. In addition, complementary services — including GBB Cloud Mail, Enterprise Content Management, Shared Web Hosting, and Contact Plus — support collaboration, communication, and operational efficiency across government institutions.

Galaxy Backbone described GxCP as Nigeria’s government-grade cloud, built to sustain critical public services and enable digital governance at scale. Through the platform, the company continues to strengthen a secure, resilient, and future-ready public service infrastructure that citizens and institutions can trust.
