MACRA and MTL Strengthen Collaboration to Advance Malawi’s Communications Sector

Mayamiko Mkoloma the strategic role MTL plays in advancing Malawi’s digitalisation agenda, noting that reliable and inclusive communications infrastructure is essential to achieving national digital goals.

The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) h as reaffirmed the importance of collaboration within the country’s communications sector following a courtesy visit by Malawi Telecommunications Limited (MTL)  to its Acting Director General, Mayamiko Mkoloma.

The meeting focused on familiarising the Acting Director General with recent developments at MTL, which remains a key stakeholder and one of Malawi’s network operators. Discussions highlighted MTL’s ongoing efforts to leverage technology to improve the quality of communication services nationwide, including initiatives aimed at extending connectivity to rural and underserved communities.

Mayamiko Mkoloma the strategic role MTL plays in advancing Malawi’s digitalisation agenda, noting that reliable and inclusive communications infrastructure is essential to achieving national digital goals.

He further called for stronger, consolidated efforts among players in the communications sector to improve quality of service, stressing that cooperation will be critical as Malawi intensifies its push toward broader digital transformation and inclusive access to connectivity.
