Morocco Rises 14 Spots in AI Readiness Index, Launches National AI Institutes

In line with Morocco’s long-term vision for AI as a catalyst for development, Mrs. Al-Falah Al-Sagroshny announced the launch of the Jazari Institutes and Jazari Root.

Mrs. Amal Al-Falah Al-Sagroshny, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administration Reform, underscored the strategic role of artificial intelligence (AI) in advancing Morocco’s technological sovereignty, promoting territorial equity, and supporting inclusive development. Her remarks came during the opening of the national event AI Made in Morocco, highlighting the country’s accelerated progress in digital transformation and public service modernization.

The Minister emphasized the importance of mastering AI technologies to reduce technological dependency, pointing to Morocco’s significant advancement of 14 places in the 2025 Government AI Readiness Index. She stressed that accelerating reforms is essential to maintaining momentum and ensuring the nation benefits from AI-driven innovation.

In line with Morocco’s long-term vision for AI as a catalyst for development, Mrs. Al-Falah Al-Sagroshny announced the launch of the Jazari Institutes and Jazari Root. These initiatives aim to create a structured network of centers of excellence, reinforcing the Royal Vision to position AI as a strategic lever for South-South cooperation and regional collaboration.

The launch marks a decisive step in Morocco’s digital strategy, combining technological advancement with inclusive growth objectives and reinforcing the country’s position as a leader in AI adoption and governance in Africa and the global south.
