The Commission disclosed that the initiative is being carried out in line with its statutory responsibilities under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 (NCA 2003), with the aim of ensuring transparency and broad stakeholder participation in the development of key regulatory frameworks for the telecommunications sector.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC)  has announced a public inquiry on its draft Spectrum Roadmap 2025–2030, alongside proposed guidelines for the use of the 60 GHz band for multi-gigabit wireless systems and the lower portion of the 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi 6 deployment in Nigeria.

The Commission disclosed that the initiative is being carried out in line with its statutory responsibilities under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 (NCA 2003), with the aim of ensuring transparency and broad stakeholder participation in the development of key regulatory frameworks for the telecommunications sector.

According to the NCC, the draft documents released for stakeholder review include the Spectrum Roadmap 2025–2030, guidelines on the use of the 60 GHz band for multi-gigabit wireless systems, and guidelines on the use of the lower part of the 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi 6 services in Nigeria.

In accordance with Section 58 of the NCA 2003, the Commission is inviting all stakeholders to participate in a public inquiry on the proposed frameworks before their finalisation.

The public inquiry is scheduled to hold virtually from January 19 to 20, 2026, and is open to industry players and other interested stakeholders.

The notice was issued on January 14, 2026, and signed by Nnenna Ukoha, Head of the Public Affairs Department of the Nigerian Communications Commission.
