Wema Bank Introduces Tap and Pay on ALAT for Instant Contactless Transfers
Tap and Pay enhances convenience and efficiency for customers conducting everyday transfers.
Wema Bank has announced the launch of Tap and Pay, a new contactless feature on its ALAT: The Evolution platform that allows users to send and receive money instantly by tapping compatible phones together. The feature is designed to make everyday transfers faster, simpler, and more convenient.
Tap and Pay is available to all ALAT users, currently supporting transfers between ALAT-to-ALAT accounts only. To access the feature, users need to download the ALAT app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, log in with their existing account details, and select the Contactless widget on the home screen.
To complete a transaction, users must ensure NFC (Near Field Communication) is enabled on their phones and have an active internet connection. Sending or receiving money is straightforward: select the relevant option in the app, tap phones with the other ALAT user, and follow the on-screen prompts. Transactions are completed instantly, offering a seamless experience for users.
Wema Bank emphasizes that all Tap and Pay transactions are secure, protected by the bank’s robust security protocols. By removing the need to enter account numbers or navigate multiple screens, Tap and Pay enhances convenience and efficiency for customers conducting everyday transfers.
