Guinea Launches Digital Agricultural Input Platform to Modernize Farming Sector
It aims to ensure that producers have regular access to quality inputs in sufficient quantity and at affordable prices, boosting productivity and competitiveness in the sector.
On January 15, 2026, in Conakry, Guinea officially launched the Digital Agricultural Input Management Platform, a new tool designed to sustainably transform the country’s agricultural sector. The ceremony brought together senior government officials, including the Minister of the Budget, representatives from the National Chamber of Agriculture, technical and financial partners, and key stakeholders in the agricultural network.
The platform forms the cornerstone of Guinea’s National Strategy for Sustainable Supply of Agricultural Inputs, developed with support from the African Development Bank under the Emergency Food Production Project (PPAU). It aims to ensure that producers have regular access to quality inputs in sufficient quantity and at affordable prices, boosting productivity and competitiveness in the sector.
The initiative also strengthens the role of the private sector in procurement and distribution, while allowing the government to focus on regulation, oversight, and support. The digitalization of agricultural inputs is expected to improve food self-sufficiency, enhance nutritional security, and lay the foundation for sustainable development, marking a major step in Guinea’s broader agricultural modernization and transformation strategy.
