In education and skills development, the government, through the Jitume Programme, has delivered over 200 computers to TVET institutions across Ndia, Mwea, and Kirinyaga Central. This initiative equips learners with vital digital skills to participate in the digital economy.
Connectivity efforts have also expanded, with nine public Wi-Fi hotspots established in strategic locations including Kutus Market and Kagumo Health Centre. Surveys for an additional 80 sites are underway as part of Phase II of the Digital Superhighway rollout.
Youth empowerment remains a central focus, with over 18,400 young people trained under the Ajira Digital Programme, preparing them to access global online work opportunities.
The officials present during the visit included CS Water Eng. Eric Mugaa; PS Salome Beacco; PS Alex Wachira; PS Ann Wang’ombe; PS Carren Ageng’o; and PS Mary Muthoni. Kabogo emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that no Kenyan is left behind in the ongoing digital revolution.
