Burkina Faso Kicks Off Construction of Digital Infrastructure Monitoring Center
The R+5 facility will centralize supervision of the national backbone network, secure cyberspace, manage state data centers, and maintain critical digital infrastructures.
The Ministry of Digital Transition, Postal and Electronic Communications in Burkina Faso has officially begun construction of the Digital Infrastructure Monitoring Center, a key initiative to reinforce the country’s digital sovereignty. The announcement was made on January 19, 2026, in Ouagadougou by Minister Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabane.
The R+5 facility will centralize supervision of the national backbone network, secure cyberspace, manage state data centers, and maintain critical digital infrastructures. The center is expected to be completed within nine months, with delivery scheduled for October 2026, at a total cost of approximately 3.048 billion CFA francs.
This project forms part of Burkina Faso’s broader digital transformation strategy, which includes initiatives to ensure all public administration buildings are connected, critical infrastructures are protected, and national data is retained locally. The architectural design, completed entirely by Burkinabe experts from Cristal Sarl, highlights local expertise in large-scale projects.
Construction will be carried out by International Compagny-Knowledge Construction Group (IC-KC)/Tech Pole Expertise, with oversight and technical control by NIEZEN Associates. Minister Zerbo/Sabane emphasized strict adherence to technical standards and deadlines, promising close monitoring to deliver a modern, efficient, and secure digital facility for the nation.
