Burundi Modernizes Tax and Non-Tax Revenue Collection with eKori Launch
The eKori system is expected to improve efficiency in internal and non-tax revenue collection, enabling Burundi to mobilize resources more effectively and support the government’s broader objectives of building an emerging and prosperous nation.
The Office Burundais des Recettes (OBR) officially launched the eKori Internal and Non-Tax Revenue Collection System on January 19, 2026, as part of the government’s efforts to modernize public finance management and strengthen service delivery across the country.
During his visit to the OBR, Minister of Finance, Budget and Digital Economy, Dr. Alain Ndikumana, emphasized the vital role of OBR staff in ensuring the smooth functioning of the state. He highlighted that through their daily work, public services such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure are funded, helping to advance Burundi’s Vision 2040 and 2060.
Minister Ndikumana called on staff to uphold integrity, solidarity, and commitment, stressing that serving the OBR is synonymous with serving the country. He stated, “Loving your country is acting for it,” reinforcing the connection between dedicated public service and national development.
