ARCEP and AGEOS Partner to Use Satellite Data for Telecom Regulation

February 2, 2026
1 min read

The partnership represents a step toward leveraging advanced technology to strengthen regulatory oversight in the telecommunications sector.

The Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (ARCEP)  and AGEOS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize institutional cooperation on the exchange and use of satellite data for monitoring radio installations. The partnership represents a step toward leveraging advanced technology to strengthen regulatory oversight in the telecommunications sector.

The agreement is designed to support regulation based on objective, data-driven insights, helping improve digital infrastructure planning while reinforcing public policies in spatial planning and sustainable development. By integrating satellite data into monitoring processes, the partnership aims to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of regulatory measures.

Under the MoU, ARCEP and AGEOS will collaborate through joint projects, training initiatives, and a dedicated steering committee to ensure coordinated efforts. Both institutions emphasized their commitment to fostering modern, innovative, and resilient regulatory practices that benefit the government, network operators, and end-users alike.
