MTN Uganda Mobile Money Confirms Interim Leadership Ahead of New MD Appointment

To ensure continuity, Ms. Sarah Bateta Okwi, the company’s Chief Finance Officer, will serve as Acting Managing Director from 1st March 2026, while a permanent appointment will be announced later.

MTN Mobile Money (U) Limited  has announced that Mr. Richard Yego will step down as Managing Director effective 28th February 2026, after four years at the helm. The company’s Board of Directors expressed gratitude for his leadership and contributions to the company’s growth and strategic direction.

To ensure continuity, Ms. Sarah Bateta Okwi, the company’s Chief Finance Officer, will serve as Acting Managing Director from 1st March 2026, while a permanent appointment will be announced later. MTN Mobile Money (U) reaffirmed its commitment to strong corporate governance and delivering value to customers and stakeholders.
