This partnership marks a significant step in expanding the reach of Zambian media both locally and internationally.

Thabo Kawana, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Media,  represented Zambia at a landmark signing ceremony to onboard Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS TV)  onto the MultiChoice Group ’s DStv platform. This partnership marks a significant step in expanding the reach of Zambian media both locally and internationally.

Speaking at the event, Kawana described the move as a “game-changer for our media industry,” emphasizing that it will allow every Zambian, at home and abroad, to have a front-row seat to the developmental projects and policies of the New Dawn Administration.

During the ceremony, concerns raised by viewers were addressed, with Kawana urging MultiChoice to:

  • Address high subscription fees
  • Reduce content repetition
  • Ensure that ZNBC TV remains available as a Free-To-Air channel

Kawana concluded by encouraging the ZANIS team to continue telling the Zambian story with professionalism and integrity, noting that the world is now watching.
