MTN Cameroon Educates Over 900 Students on Cybersecurity During Youth Week
Through these engagements, MTN Cameroon seeks to empower youth to uphold their dignity, exercise freedom of expression responsibly, and remain protected from online harm, while also fostering respect for the rights of others within the digital ecosystem.
MTN Cameroon has reinforced its commitment to youth digital safety by engaging more than 900 students in Douala through a cybersecurity awareness initiative held during Youth Week. The programme was delivered in partnership with SAFE Africa and brought together learners from DAS, PNEU, SMART, and BELMON Colleges in Bonaberi.
The awareness sessions took place from 9 to 10 February and focused on critical online safety issues affecting young people, including cyberbullying, online scams, and data protection. Students actively participated in discussions, shared personal experiences, and asked questions, demonstrating strong interest in understanding how to navigate the digital space safely and responsibly.
The initiative forms part of MTN Cameroon’s broader drive to promote Digital Human Rights, with an emphasis on educating young people about their rights and responsibilities online. By addressing privacy, online safety, and ethical digital behaviour, the programme aims to equip students with the knowledge needed to protect themselves and others in an increasingly connected world.
Through these engagements, MTN Cameroon seeks to empower youth to uphold their dignity, exercise freedom of expression responsibly, and remain protected from online harm, while also fostering respect for the rights of others within the digital ecosystem.
