Abidjan-Plateau Sees Launch of Streamlined Digital System for Energy Equipment Taxes
The objective is to simplify administrative procedures, reduce processing times, strengthen the transparency and traceability of procedures, secure the processing of applications, and sustainably improve the business climate.
The Director General of Energy, Narcisse Kalifa Éhouman, officially launched the digital platform for requesting VAT (Value Added Tax), TOB (Tax on Banking Operations), and customs duties and taxes applicable to renewable energy equipment on Friday, February 20, 2026, in Abidjan-Plateau. The objective is to simplify administrative procedures, reduce processing times, strengthen the transparency and traceability of procedures, secure the processing of applications, and sustainably improve the business climate.
This ceremony, which he presided over on behalf of the Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Energy, Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly, was attended by representatives of partner administrations, including the Single Window for Foreign Trade (GUCE), the Directorate General of Customs, the Directorate General of Taxes, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, as well as all economic operators, importers and actors in the renewable energy sector.

Thanks to this platform, developed in close collaboration with the GUCE, importers will now be able to submit their applications online, track the progress of their files in real time and interact with the administration in a smoother, more efficient and more transparent way.”

According to the Director General of Energy, this reform directly contributes to accelerating access to clean technologies, reducing investment costs in solar, wind and other renewable energy projects, structuring a more competitive and professional national market, and strengthening trust between the administration and economic operators.
He invited all importers and stakeholders in the sector to fully embrace this tool: “Its performance will depend on its responsible use in accordance with the applicable regulations. The success of this platform also relies on continuous collaboration between the relevant administrations and users, in a spirit of partnership and shared responsibility.”
