Cisco Unveils New AgenticOps Innovations to Power AI-Era IT Operations

The newly introduced capabilities aim to further transform how IT teams manage and secure complex, distributed infrastructure at scale.

Cisco  has announced new innovations to its AgenticOps framework, expanding agentic-driven operations across networking, security, and observability. First launched last year, AgenticOps is an agent-first IT operating model designed to enable autonomous action with built-in oversight. The newly introduced capabilities aim to further transform how IT teams manage and secure complex, distributed infrastructure at scale.

“For teams responsible for operating and securing distributed networks and infrastructure, AgenticOps represents a profound and fundamental shift away from complexity. This is the true power of Cisco as a platform. By delivering agentic capabilities aligned to critical IT operations priorities, we’re combining Cisco’s unique cross-domain visibility, purpose-built models, and governance together to supercharge teams.”

Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer, Cisco

Cisco originally introduced AgenticOps to redefine how artificial intelligence is applied in networking, addressing the growing complexity of modern IT environments. Powered by advanced AI and unified network data — including the Deep Network Model — solutions such as Agentic Workflows and AI Canvas enable faster troubleshooting and secure automation. With the latest update, Cisco is extending these agentic capabilities across networking, security, and observability to support IT operations spanning cloud, on-premises, air-gapped industrial systems, enterprise environments, data centers, and service provider networks.

Operating Networks at AI Scale with Intelligent Execution

Across campus, branch, and industrial environments, Cisco is introducing autonomous troubleshooting capabilities that enable end-to-end agentic investigations to triage connectivity and user experience issues, reducing mean time to resolution to minutes. Continuous optimization features deliver context-aware recommendations designed to prevent performance degradation before users are impacted, while trusted validation tools provide risk-aware assessments of network changes based on live topology, configuration, and telemetry data.

New experience metrics consolidate thousands of network signals into a single, actionable view focused on user experience indicators such as Time to Connect, Capacity, and Roaming. In addition, IT teams can now create production-ready, deterministic automations using agentic workflow creation within the Cisco AI Assistant.

In data center environments, AgenticOps enables early detection and intelligent event correlation, delivering prescriptive recommendations to optimize network performance. For service providers, new agentic capabilities within Crosswork AI accelerate the move toward autonomous networking by identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex multi-vendor issues with increased speed and accuracy.

Enhancing Security Operations with Agentic Intelligence

Within Cisco Security Cloud Control, AgenticOps introduces proactive firewall policy recommendations by analyzing traffic patterns to strengthen zero trust controls for sensitive applications. Agentic troubleshooting and optimization features also detect performance-impacting issues such as elephant flows, improving operational efficiency.

Continuous compliance capabilities further enhance security operations by automatically evaluating firewall configurations, identifying PCI-DSS deviations, and recommending remediation actions to help organizations maintain compliance.

Visibility and Control Across Agentic Applications

To support observability, Cisco is expanding visibility into large language model and agentic application performance. AI Agent Monitoring within **Splunk Observability Cloud enables teams to track performance, cost, quality, and behavior of agentic workflows, providing deeper insight into how AI-driven operations perform in real-world environments.

With these enhancements, Cisco is positioning AgenticOps as a foundational operating model for enterprises seeking to manage AI-scale networks with greater autonomy, governance, and operational efficiency.
