Ministry of Traditional Industry Launches 36 Million Dirham Initiative to Modernize Artisan Sector

The Ministry of Traditional Industry, Social Economy and Solidarity  recently held a ceremony to sign partnership agreements aimed at strengthening the support and oversight of Traditional Industry Chambers and their affiliated universities. The event was chaired by Lahassan Al-Saadi, Secretary of State for Traditional Industry, Social Economy, and Solidarity, and attended by multiple institutional partners.

The agreements mark a major step in promoting the digital transformation of Morocco’s traditional industry sector. Key initiatives include issuing the Manufacturer’s Professional Card, activating the National Register for Traditional Industry, and digitizing operational rooms, supported by a financial allocation of 36 million Dirham. These measures are designed to improve sector management, streamline administrative processes, and ensure better traceability of artisans and their activities.

In addition, a partnership was signed with SMAP EVENTS to support the promotion and international marketing of traditional industrial products, enhancing global visibility for Moroccan craftsmanship. The ceremony also included the signing of a 2026 operational program with 12 regional chambers and the Maker’s House Foundation, aimed at strengthening organizational structures, expanding health coverage, and improving production and marketing quality.

These initiatives demonstrate Morocco’s commitment to modernizing the traditional industry sector through digital innovation, institutional partnerships, and international marketing, supporting sustainable growth and enhancing the competitiveness of local artisans on the global stage.
