These collaborations aim to strengthen education infrastructure, improve access to digital tools, and enhance the quality of learning outcomes for students.

The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies  has marked another milestone in its efforts to expand digital skills development and coding and robotics education across South Africa. The initiative was highlighted during a Ministerial Briefing and plaque unveiling held at Jeffreys Bay Comprehensive High School, bringing together government leaders, partners, and local stakeholders.

The engagement was led by Solly Malatsi, Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, and underscores the government’s commitment to equipping learners with future-ready digital skills. The event forms part of a broader national agenda to prepare young people for opportunities in the digital economy through early exposure to coding, robotics, and technology-driven learning.

The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Software AG and the Kouga Local Municipality, demonstrating the importance of partnerships between government, the private sector, and local authorities. These collaborations aim to strengthen education infrastructure, improve access to digital tools, and enhance the quality of learning outcomes for students.

By working alongside the South African Government and its partners, the Department continues to advance its vision of building a digitally skilled generation. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to empowering learners, fostering innovation, and ensuring that South Africa’s youth are well positioned to thrive in an increasingly digital future.
