Author: Kay-Lyne Wolfenden

The new solution is designed to help enterprises accelerate the deployment of AI factories and advanced AI applications by delivering a complete, pre-validated AI infrastructure stack.

Supermicro, Inc.  has announced the launch of CNode-X, a highly integrated and rapidly deployable AI Data Platform, developed in collaboration with VAST Data.  The new solution is designed to help enterprises accelerate the deployment of AI factories and advanced AI applications by delivering a complete, pre-validated AI infrastructure stack.

At the core of the CNode-X solution is the VAST AI Operating System, which includes the VAST InsightEngine and VAST DataBase. These are combined with NVIDIA  open models, microservices, and software libraries, alongside Supermicro’s GPU-accelerated compute and storage servers. Together, the components form an end-to-end AI platform that enables organizations to move quickly from infrastructure deployment to production AI workloads.

According to Charles Liang, President and CEO of Supermicro, the CNode-X solution builds on the companies’ existing partnership by unifying high-performance AI systems, advanced data software, and GPU acceleration into a single enterprise-ready platform. He noted that the solution supports both large-scale AI initiatives and enterprise use cases such as generative AI and video analytics, allowing customers to scale with greater speed and confidence.

From VAST Data’s perspective, John Mao, Vice President of Global Technology Alliances, said CNode-X simplifies the deployment of AI data platforms by ensuring GPUs are continuously fed with data and by reducing the time from system installation to first AI inference. He emphasized that the platform provides a turnkey foundation for enterprise AI factories, helping teams operationalize AI more efficiently.

The CNode-X solution builds on Supermicro’s existing EBox platform with VAST Data, first introduced in 2024 and widely adopted for its space, power, and cost efficiency. The second-generation EBox has been updated with the latest AMD EPYC™ 9005 processors and now serves as a validated storage foundation for the new AI data platform.

Aligned with the NVIDIA AI Data Platform reference architecture, CNode-X incorporates GPU acceleration to enhance data vectorization, vector database search, and inference workloads. The solution combines Supermicro’s CloudDC AS-1116CS-TN storage system with the SYS-212GB-FNR 2U multi-GPU compute server, supporting NVIDIA RTX PRO™ 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs in a compact form factor.

Beyond hardware, the platform delivers a tightly integrated software stack with pre-configured AI workflows for real-time agents and enterprise generative AI. It can also serve as the storage layer for larger AI factory deployments when paired with Supermicro’s large-scale GPU servers, NVIDIA HGX-based systems, and advanced liquid cooling technologies.

To further simplify enterprise adoption, Supermicro offers rack-level integration, factory testing, on-site installation, and end-to-end lifecycle management through its SuperCloud Suite, providing centralized visibility and control across systems and cooling infrastructure.

The CNode-X AI Data Platform was officially unveiled at the VAST Forward conference, held in Salt Lake City from February 24 to 26, underscoring both companies’ focus on accelerating enterprise AI adoption through tightly integrated, production-ready infrastructure.
