Through the launch of the ADTC, South Africa aims to strengthen its position as a hub for technology-driven entrepreneurship and support the growth of Africa’s digital economy.

The Deputy Minister of the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies,  Mondli Gungubele (MP), officially launched the African Digital Transformation Centre (ADTC) at The Innovation Hub in Pretoria, marking a significant milestone in South Africa’s drive to accelerate digital innovation and support technology-driven entrepreneurship.

Describing the Centre as a “beacon of innovation, ambition, and Africa’s determination to shape its own digital future,” Deputy Minister Gungubele emphasized that the ADTC will serve as a catalyst for the continent’s digital growth.

The Centre is designed to empower ICT SMEs and digital entrepreneurs by providing access to state-of-the-art facilities, business development support, mentorship networks, funding pathways, and both local and international market linkages. Operating as a collaborative ecosystem, the ADTC will unite government, private sector, academia, and civil society to ensure emerging technologies generate real economic opportunities.

Deputy Minister Gungubele also highlighted The Innovation Hub’s pivotal role as host and operational partner, praising the collaboration as a model for public-sector partnerships that drive innovation and enterprise development.
