During the event, pupils were introduced to CA’s Child Online Protection (COP) program, learning how to navigate the internet safely, identify risks like cyber‑bullying and online grooming, and respond to harmful content.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility & Investment (CSRI) initiative, the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) donated computers to Gitunduti Comprehensive School in Nyeri County, aiming to bridge the digital divide and equip students with 21st‑century skills.
The handover event was presided over by Paul Mureithi, CA Board Director, who emphasized the Authority’s commitment to ensuring all children, regardless of location, have access to digital tools.
During the event, pupils were introduced to CA’s Child Online Protection (COP) program, learning how to navigate the internet safely, identify risks like cyber‑bullying and online grooming, and respond to harmful content. Information, education, and communication (IEC) materials on online safety were also distributed, turning the day into a tech and safety bootcamp.
To leave a lasting environmental impact, CA planted trees on the school grounds in support of the national “Greening Kenya” initiative, which aims to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.
