According to the Ministry, the training forms part of Rwanda’s broader strategy to ensure that AI adoption goes beyond experimentation and translates into tangible benefits for citizens.

The Government of Rwanda has intensified its push to integrate artificial intelligence across public institutions through a targeted training initiative for its Chief Digital Officers. The Ministry of ICT and Innovation  brought together digital leaders from various government agencies for a specialized AI training session aimed at strengthening practical knowledge and application of artificial intelligence in governance.

The session, facilitated by Cenfri, focused on equipping participants with a deeper understanding of emerging AI technologies, including generative AI, and how they can be applied in real government use cases. It also explored different implementation approaches and highlighted key governance considerations necessary for responsible AI deployment within the public sector.

According to the Ministry, the training forms part of Rwanda’s broader strategy to ensure that AI adoption goes beyond experimentation and translates into tangible benefits for citizens. By strengthening institutional capacity, the government aims to harness AI to improve efficiency, enhance service delivery, and drive innovation across sectors.

As artificial intelligence continues to evolve rapidly, Rwanda is positioning itself to remain proactive, ensuring that its public institutions not only adopt new technologies but also implement them in ways that deliver measurable impact and support national development goals.
