Ecobank Rwanda Plc Launches MoFlex Microloan Service to Boost Financial Inclusion
The initiative targets individuals and small businesses that often face challenges accessing traditional banking credit.
Ecobank Rwanda Plc has unveiled a new digital microloan solution, MoFlex, aimed at deepening financial inclusion and expanding access to credit across Rwanda. The product was officially launched during Day 2 of the Inclusive FinTech Forum 2026, highlighting the growing role of fintech partnerships in driving inclusive economic growth.
Developed in collaboration with Mobile Money Rwanda Ltd and Yabx, MoFlex is designed to provide customers with fast and flexible access to short-term loans directly through their mobile money accounts. The initiative targets individuals and small businesses that often face challenges accessing traditional banking credit.
The MoFlex solution enables users to access loans of up to Rwf 1,000,000, with repayment options spanning 7, 14, or 30 days at discounted interest rates. By leveraging mobile technology, the platform ensures that funds are disbursed instantly into users’ mobile wallets, offering a convenient and efficient alternative to conventional lending processes.
Customers can access the service by dialing 1825*4# on their mobile devices and following simple prompts to complete the transaction. The ease of access underscores the solution’s focus on usability and speed, key factors in serving underserved and unbanked populations.
The launch of MoFlex reflects a broader commitment by Ecobank Rwanda and its partners to harness digital innovation in addressing financial inclusion gaps. By integrating lending services into existing mobile money ecosystems, the initiative is expected to enhance access to timely financial support while empowering small businesses and individuals to manage short-term financial needs more effectively.
