ICCA Launched in Rwanda to Strengthen Africa’s Cybersecurity Collaboration
The platform is designed to bring together cybersecurity professionals, institutions, and stakeholders across Africa into a unified network focused on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skills development.
A new pan-African cybersecurity initiative, the International Cybersecurity Community for Africa (ICCA ), has been officially launched in Kigali, Rwanda, marking a major step toward strengthening the continent’s digital defense capabilities.
The platform is designed to bring together cybersecurity professionals, institutions, and stakeholders across Africa into a unified network focused on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skills development. By fostering closer cooperation among experts, the initiative aims to improve how African countries detect, respond to, and manage cyber threats.
The launch of the ICCA comes at a time when cyberattacks across Africa are increasing rapidly, placing pressure on both public and private sector systems. In response, the new platform seeks to serve as a central hub for building technical capacity and coordinating regional cybersecurity efforts.
Backed by Rwandan authorities and international partners, the ICCA is positioned to play a key role in advancing cybersecurity awareness, improving preparedness, and strengthening the continent’s ability to protect its digital infrastructure. The initiative reflects a broader push to build a more resilient and secure digital ecosystem across Africa.
