Chad and US Deepen Digital Ties as Minister Hosts Embassy Delegation Ahead of Strategic Mission

Chad is stepping up efforts to deepen digital cooperation with the United States following a high-level meeting between government officials and a U.S. delegation.
The Minister of Telecommunications, Digital Economy and Digitalisation, Haliki Choua Mahamat, received a delegation from the United States Embassy led by Business Commissioner William Flens. The meeting, held in N’Djamena, also had in attendance Secretary of State Abel Maina and senior ministry officials.
Discussions centred on preparations for an upcoming mission to the United States aimed at strengthening cooperation and building technical partnerships with American companies. Key focus areas include telecommunications, the digital economy, and digital health.
The minister highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure the success of the planned mission, noting that technical teams are working closely with their U.S. counterparts to finalise administrative processes, including visa arrangements and scheduling.
The U.S. delegation also acknowledged the minister’s recent appointment following a government reshuffle, while both sides explored opportunities to expand collaboration in strategic digital sectors.
The meeting concluded with a presentation on U.S. cybersecurity strategy, underscoring growing interest in strengthening cyber resilience as part of broader bilateral digital cooperation.
