The programme, implemented across major cities including Lagos, Abuja, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, and Kano, has successfully onboarded 2,050 women into formal financial systems, marking a significant step toward economic inclusion.

Airtel Nigeria  has highlighted the impact of its ongoing women empowerment initiative under the Airtel Africa Foundation’s “Empower Her” programme, which continues to expand financial inclusion across multiple regions in Nigeria.

The programme, implemented across major cities including Lagos, Abuja, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, and Kano, has successfully onboarded 2,050 women into formal financial systems, marking a significant step toward economic inclusion.

As part of the initiative, 300 women received mini grants to support and scale their businesses, while another 300 participants were integrated into agent banking, enabling them to provide financial services within their communities and generate sustainable income.

The company acknowledged the collaborative effort behind the programme’s success, extending appreciation to partners including Smartcash PSB and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, alongside Airtel leadership teams and employee volunteers.

Airtel Nigeria also commended the women participants for actively engaging in the programme and taking steps to strengthen their economic independence and business prospects.

The Empower Her initiative reflects Airtel Africa Foundation’s broader commitment to driving financial inclusion, supporting entrepreneurship, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for women across Nigeria.
