Mr. Chinyama emphasized the importance of public awareness and communication in government service delivery, stating that citizens need to understand the various services being provided and how public resources are being utilized for their benefit.

SMART Zambia  – e-Government Division has reaffirmed the Zambian government’s commitment to fully digitalising public services as part of the country’s broader digital transformation agenda. Speaking during a courtesy call on Muchinga Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Brian Sichande in Chinsali District, SMART Zambia National Coordinator Percy Chinyama said the government’s primary objective is to ensure that all public services are accessible through digital platforms.

Mr. Chinyama emphasized the importance of public awareness and communication in government service delivery, stating that citizens need to understand the various services being provided and how public resources are being utilized for their benefit. He noted that effective communication helps build trust and demonstrates accountability in the use of taxpayers’ money.

He further revealed that SMART Zambia plans to connect all health facilities and schools across the country to digital systems in order to improve service delivery in critical sectors such as education and healthcare. The initiative is expected to expand access to digital services and strengthen connectivity in underserved areas.

Responding during the meeting, Mr. Sichande welcomed the government’s efforts to modernize service delivery, saying the importance of digitalisation “cannot be overemphasised.” He added that transitioning to paperless systems would not only improve efficiency but also contribute to environmental protection by reducing paper consumption.

Mr. Sichande also expressed appreciation to the SMART Zambia team for engaging provincial leadership and pledged Muchinga Province’s full support in advancing the country’s digital transformation agenda. The engagement reflects Zambia’s continued push toward leveraging technology to improve governance, accessibility, and public service delivery nationwide.
