Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, has announced the launch of GovGuideNigeria, an AI-powered platform aimed at improving public access to government information and services.
The platform is available through WhatsApp and the web, offering support in English, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba to make government information more accessible to Nigerians across different linguistic and literacy backgrounds.
According to the minister, GovGuideNigeria provides citizens with access to information from more than 35 federal ministries and over 60 government agencies. The initiative is designed to simplify interactions with public institutions, reduce information barriers, and strengthen service delivery nationwide.
Tijani said the project reflects the government’s broader commitment to leveraging technology and artificial intelligence to serve underserved and low-literacy communities more effectively.
The initiative was developed through a collaboration involving National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR Nigeria), Meta, and Publica AI.
The minister described GovGuideNigeria as an example of how partnerships between government, private sector players, and local innovators can address practical challenges and improve citizen engagement with public services.
