Broadband Systems and Oman Data Park Sign Deal to Expand Rwanda’s Digital Infrastructure
The partnership is aimed at strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure and supporting the growing demand for advanced data and artificial intelligence capabilities.
Broadband Systems Corporation has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oman Data Park to jointly invest in the development of an AI-ready Tier III Data Centre in Rwanda. The partnership is aimed at strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure and supporting the growing demand for advanced data and artificial intelligence capabilities.
The agreement was witnessed by officials from the Ministry of ICT & Innovation, including ministers Musoni Paula and Yves Iradukunda, as well as Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA) Chief Executive Officer Antoine Sebera.
According to the companies, the planned facility will be designed to meet Tier III standards, providing high levels of reliability, redundancy, and operational resilience for critical digital services. The data centre is also expected to be AI-ready, positioning Rwanda to support emerging technologies, cloud services, and data-intensive applications.
The collaboration reflects a broader effort to strengthen Rwanda’s digital transformation agenda through investment in secure and future-ready technology infrastructure. The partners said the initiative is intended to support innovation, improve data resilience, and accelerate the development of smarter digital systems across the country.
