Zoyk and Visa Launch Strategic Partnership to Advance Digital Payments in Zambia

Percy Chinyama, National Coordinator at the SMART Zambia E-Government Division, delivered a keynote address highlighting how the partnership aligns with Zambia’s broader digital transformation agenda.

Zoyk  has officially launched a strategic partnership with Visa,  marking what the company described as a significant milestone for financial innovation and digital transformation in Zambia.

The launch event brought together key industry leaders to discuss a shared vision for advancing digital integration and improving financial inclusion across the region.

Program Director Makondo Mukando opened the event and introduced speakers who highlighted the importance of the partnership. Chembo Sumbwe, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Zoyk, alongside Clive Nabale, Co-Founder and CEO, explained that integrating local fintech infrastructure with global payment networks would help create secure and efficient transaction systems for businesses and consumers.

Salome Makau, Head of Cluster for Central Southern Africa at Visa, and Viveka Govender, Head of Movement for Southern Eastern Africa, spoke about the role of combining international payment systems with local digital distribution channels to accelerate cross-border trade and regional progress within the SADC region.

Zoyk said the partnership will now focus on making Zambia’s financial ecosystem more accessible, secure, and fully digital.
