Namibia Boosts Cybersecurity Capacity Through NIPAM–Global Cybersecurity Centre Partnership

The Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management (NIPAM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Global Cybersecurity Centre to enhance cybersecurity awareness and capacity building across Namibia’s public sector.
The agreement, signed on June 4, establishes a framework for collaboration between the two institutions aimed at equipping public servants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate an increasingly complex cyber threat landscape. The partnership will focus on raising awareness of cybersecurity risks while promoting best practices for protecting digital systems and information.
Under the MoU, NIPAM and the Global Cybersecurity Centre will jointly develop and deliver training programs designed to help participants identify, prevent, and respond effectively to cyberattacks. The initiative will target public sector employees and extend to private-sector professionals, supporting broader efforts to strengthen cybersecurity resilience across the country.
The partnership comes at a time when cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated and frequent, increasing the need for organizations to invest in cybersecurity education and preparedness. By improving cyber awareness and response capabilities, the two institutions aim to contribute to a more secure digital environment for government agencies, businesses, and citizens.
NIPAM said the collaboration reflects its commitment to supporting skills development and institutional capacity building in areas critical to Namibia’s digital transformation agenda. Through the partnership, public servants will gain access to specialized training and practical knowledge that can help reduce cybersecurity risks and strengthen the protection of digital assets.
