The platform, which is part of the broader “Digital for Excellence” initiative, is designed as an integrated digital infrastructure aimed at improving public service delivery.

The Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute  has announced the official launch of the Unified MESOB Platform, describing it as a major milestone in Ethiopia’s digital transformation journey and one of the most advanced locally developed digital systems in Africa.

In a statement delivered during the platform’s official unveiling, the Institute’s Director General, W/ro Worku Gachena (PhD), noted that the Unified MESOB Platform was developed by the Institute and inaugurated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD). She described the platform as a flagship achievement that reflects Ethiopia’s growing capacity to build and deploy its own advanced technological solutions.

The platform, which is part of the broader “Digital for Excellence” initiative, is designed as an integrated digital infrastructure aimed at improving public service delivery. According to the Institute, it is expected to streamline government operations, reduce inefficiencies, and save citizens’ time while strengthening transparency and accountability across public institutions.

The Director General emphasized that the project demonstrates the impact of strong national leadership and support for the technology sector. She credited government backing for enabling the Institute to develop a system that supports good governance and addresses administrative challenges through digital transformation.

The Unified MESOB Platform has been made available to users through mobile applications on both the App Store and Play Store, as well as through a web-based interface for computer users. This multi-platform accessibility is intended to ensure broad public reach and ease of use.

The Institute also stated that it intends to scale the platform’s impact further and share its experience with other African countries, positioning Ethiopia as a regional leader in digital innovation.
