Saudi Arabia’s AI Adoption Reaches 45% as Internet Usage Soars

Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has released the Saudi Internet Report 2025, highlighting the Kingdom’s growing digital maturity, widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), and continued investment in high-performance digital infrastructure. The report provides a comprehensive overview of internet usage trends and digital behaviors across the country.
According to the report, 45.2% of internet users in Saudi Arabia now use AI tools, reflecting the country’s rapid embrace of emerging technologies across both personal and professional applications. The findings underscore the increasing role of AI in the Kingdom’s digital transformation agenda and the growing familiarity of users with next-generation digital services.
The report also found that average mobile data consumption reached 53GB per person per month, approximately three times the global average. In addition, Saudi Arabia recorded a median mobile internet download speed of 216Mbps, placing the Kingdom among the top five G20 countries for mobile internet performance. CST said the figures demonstrate the continued expansion of the country’s digital infrastructure and the high quality of telecommunications services available to consumers.
Internet usage continues to play a central role in everyday life, with 61.3% of users spending seven hours or more online each day. The report examines digital platform preferences, identifying the most popular and frequently downloaded applications across categories including social media, government services, sports, and AI, while also providing insights into internet usage patterns across different user segments.
The report further revealed an 18% year-on-year increase in Saudi domain name registrations, reflecting growing confidence in the Kingdom’s online ecosystem and the continued expansion of local digital businesses and services.
Beyond usage statistics, the report tracks broader developments within Saudi Arabia’s digital ecosystem, including the fastest-growing applications, browsing habits, and the most widely used search engines. According to CST, these trends highlight the rapid growth of locally developed digital content and the increasing contribution of the digital economy to national development.
CST said the Saudi Internet Report 2025 forms part of its ongoing efforts to monitor the evolution of the Kingdom’s internet ecosystem, improve the efficiency of digital services, and support innovation and sustainable growth as Saudi Arabia advances its digital transformation ambitions.
