Cregis Expands into Africa to Power Enterprise Digital Asset Growth

The move follows its expansion across the Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Latin America regions, as demand for enterprise-grade digital asset infrastructure continues to rise worldwide.

Enterprise digital asset infrastructure platform Cregis  has announced its expansion into Africa, marking the latest milestone in the company’s global growth strategy. The move follows its expansion across the Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Latin America regions, as demand for enterprise-grade digital asset infrastructure continues to rise worldwide.

The company said Africa represents one of the world’s fastest-growing digital asset markets. According to Chainalysis, Sub-Saharan Africa received more than US$205 billion in on-chain value between July 2024 and June 2025, representing a 52% year-on-year increase. Growth has been driven by the increasing use of stablecoin payments, cross-border transactions and wider adoption of digital financial services. At the same time, improving regulatory clarity across several African markets is creating a stronger foundation for enterprise adoption of digital assets.

Commenting on the expansion, Cregis Founder and CEO Shawn Yan said the company believes Africa is reaching a pivotal stage in the evolution of its digital asset ecosystem.

“We’ve seen this pattern before. Adoption comes first. As businesses grow, the focus shifts to operating digital assets securely, efficiently and in a way that can keep pace with evolving regulatory expectations. That’s where enterprise infrastructure becomes essential, and it’s the same transition we’re beginning to see across Africa.”

Cregis said it has already onboarded enterprise customers in Africa and is expanding its local business development activities, with a particular focus on Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa, where digital asset ecosystems are among the continent’s most advanced. The company is working with stablecoin payment providers, over-the-counter (OTC) trading desks, cryptocurrency exchanges and digital banks as demand for enterprise infrastructure continues to grow.

To support these organisations, Cregis offers an integrated platform that enables enterprises to manage the full lifecycle of digital assets, including wallet operations, fund flows, custody, governance and compliance. Its portfolio includes Wallet-as-a-Service (WaaS), Payment Engine, TronGas and Crypto Off-Ramp, allowing businesses to scale digital asset operations through a unified infrastructure rather than relying on multiple providers.

The African expansion builds on nearly a decade of experience supporting enterprise customers in high-growth digital asset markets. Cregis said its work across Asia-Pacific helped shape its approach to delivering infrastructure that combines operational flexibility with long-term compliance readiness. The company has since strengthened its global footprint by establishing Dubai as its Middle East hub in 2024, expanding into Latin America and Europe, and supporting more than 200 long-term enterprise deployments across the Middle East.

As digital asset adoption continues to grow, Cregis believes enterprises increasingly require infrastructure that integrates treasury management, governance and regulatory compliance alongside secure wallet technology. The company said its platform is designed to support organisations ranging from fast-growing fintechs and crypto-native businesses to regulated financial institutions. Cregis also highlighted its zero-security-incident record and internationally recognised certifications, including SOC 2 Type I, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001.

Looking ahead, the company plans to deepen its presence across Africa through customer engagement, local partnerships and participation in industry events such as Blockchain Africa Conference and Blockfest Africa, as it seeks to support the continued integration of digital assets into the region’s financial services sector.

Yan said the company sees Africa as a long-term strategic market for enterprise digital asset infrastructure.

“We’ve spent years helping businesses navigate periods of rapid market growth and regulatory change. Africa is entering a similar phase. Our goal isn’t simply to bring technology into the region — it’s to help local businesses build digital asset operations that can grow with confidence over the next decade.”
