Ethio Telecom Spotlights Ethiopia’s AI Talent at Cursor Ethiopia Hackathon 2026

Ethio Telecom  has concluded the Cursor Ethiopia AI Hackathon 2026, bringing together more than 300 developers, students and innovators to build artificial intelligence solutions addressing real-world challenges across multiple sectors.

Held at the Adwa Museum, the hackathon was organised in collaboration with Cursor Ethiopia and Ethiopia’s Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MInT). Participants developed AI-powered solutions targeting areas including service delivery and healthcare, showcasing innovative applications of artificial intelligence to address local needs.

Ethio Telecom said the initiative demonstrated the creativity and technical capabilities of Ethiopia’s growing AI community while fostering collaboration among developers, students and technology innovators.

The state-owned operator said its involvement reflects its commitment to supporting digital transformation, entrepreneurship and innovation as Ethiopia continues to build its digital economy.

The company also congratulated the winning teams and thanked all participants for contributing to the success of the hackathon, reaffirming its commitment to advancing opportunities that strengthen the country’s digital future.
