Mauritania and Oman Sign Digital Transformation, AI and Cybersecurity Agreements
According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Modernization, the agreements are designed to establish practical partnerships in key areas including digital transformation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital capacity building and professional training.
Mauritania and Oman have strengthened their digital cooperation with the signing of a cooperation agreement and several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at accelerating digital transformation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), skills development and training.
The agreements were signed during the closing ceremony of the Mauritanian-Omani Digitalization Forum, held on 30 July 2026 at the Diplomatic Academy in Nouakchott. The event marked the conclusion of the bilateral forum, which brought together government officials, public institutions and private sector representatives from both countries to explore opportunities for collaboration in the digital economy.
The ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of Mauritania’s Ministry of Digital Transformation and Modernization, Khaled Abdeen Sidi, alongside the Undersecretary of Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Ali bin Amer Al-Shaydhani, and the President of the Services Union, Mohamed Ould Daoud. The officials oversaw the signing of the cooperation agreement and the MoUs between institutions from the two countries.

Organisers said the event reflects both countries’ commitment to expanding regional cooperation and advancing their digital transformation agendas.
