MTN Rwanda Rolls Out VoLTE to Enhance Mobile Voice Experience
The new service enables customers with compatible devices to make high-definition (HD) voice calls over the 4G LTE network, delivering clearer voice quality, faster call setup times and improved overall call reliability.
MTN Rwanda has launched Voice over LTE (VoLTE), marking another milestone in the operator’s ongoing network modernisation programme and its efforts to enhance the mobile experience for customers across the country.
The new service enables customers with compatible devices to make high-definition (HD) voice calls over the 4G LTE network, delivering clearer voice quality, faster call setup times and improved overall call reliability. Unlike traditional voice services, VoLTE also allows users to continue using 4G mobile data while on a voice call, enabling uninterrupted browsing, streaming and other online activities.
According to MTN Rwanda, the launch forms part of its continued investment in strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure and expanding access to next-generation connectivity. The operator said the deployment is designed to improve network performance while supporting the growing demand for high-quality digital communication services.
The introduction of VoLTE further reinforces MTN Rwanda’s commitment to enabling a more connected digital future by delivering advanced mobile technologies that benefit individuals, businesses and communities. The launch aligns with the company’s broader strategy to modernise its network and support Rwanda’s digital transformation ambitions.
