Terra Industries Partners with Miva Open University to Launch Robotics and Drone Labs

Terra Industries has partnered with Miva Open University to establish integrated robotics and drone laboratories across the university’s learning centres, beginning with a pilot facility in Abuja. The initiative is aimed at providing students with practical engineering experience and strengthening technology-focused education.
Under the partnership, students will gain hands-on experience in designing, assembling, testing and flying drones as part of their academic programmes. The labs are intended to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world engineering by embedding practical drone and robotics training into the curriculum.
Beyond student training, Terra Industries will conduct hands-on workshops, provide training for Miva Open University faculty members, and create opportunities for students through internships and employment. The company said top-performing students will be considered for internship placements and job opportunities, helping to build a pipeline of industry-ready talent.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to developing Africa’s engineering workforce through experiential learning. By equipping students with practical skills in robotics and drone technologies, the initiative aims to prepare the next generation of engineers to contribute to the continent’s growing industrial and technology sectors.
