Stanley Oduah, Co-founder and Group Chief Operating Officer of Routelink Group, announced the development, describing the licence as a defining milestone for the group.

Routelink Microfinance Bank  has received an operating licence from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),  marking a significant milestone for Routelink Group as it expands its financial services offering in Nigeria.

Stanley Oduah, Co-founder and Group Chief Operating Officer of Routelink Group, announced the development, describing the licence as a defining milestone for the group.

The new microfinance bank is expected to focus on delivering accessible, technology-driven financial services to individuals and businesses, with particular attention to underserved communities across Nigeria.

According to Oduah, the establishment of Routelink Microfinance Bank forms part of the group’s broader mission to use technology to expand access to financial services. The move brings together Routelink’s telecommunications, enterprise and payments activities with a regulated banking operation.

The CBN licence provides Routelink Microfinance Bank with the regulatory approval to commence its banking operations, positioning the company to develop financial services aimed at individuals, businesses and communities that may have limited access to traditional banking services.

The development adds a financial-services arm to Routelink Group, which also operates across telecommunications, payments and enterprise services. The group said the new venture will focus on building trust and creating new financial possibilities through technology-driven solutions.
