The initiative, known as GRIT (Growing Retailers Innovatively Together), is designed to equip retailers with practical business skills to improve operations, profitability and customer engagement. The programme targets 24,000 retailers over a two-year period.

Vodacom Tanzania  has partnered with Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL PLC)  on a programme aimed at strengthening the capabilities of small retailers across the country.

The initiative, known as GRIT (Growing Retailers Innovatively Together), is designed to equip retailers with practical business skills to improve operations, profitability and customer engagement. The programme targets 24,000 retailers over a two-year period.

As part of the initiative, 150 entrepreneurs in Mwanza recently participated in the programme, with Vodacom Tanzania contributing the digital component. The company introduced retailers to the use of technology and digital financial solutions to simplify transactions, improve financial management and strengthen engagement with customers.

The partnership forms part of efforts to support small businesses through skills development and greater access to digital tools, with the programme positioning stronger retailers as a contributor to wider community economic growth.
