The pan-African fintech said three million customers joined its platform in the past 12 months, with growth recorded across Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and South Africa.

M-KOPA  has marked its 15th anniversary after reaching 10 million customers since its founding in 2011, while reporting record revenue of US$600 million for the 2025 financial year, representing a 45% increase from 2024.

The pan-African fintech said three million customers joined its platform in the past 12 months, with growth recorded across Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and South Africa. The company currently onboards approximately 10,000 new customers daily and processes micropayments at a rate of 23 times per second.

M-KOPA also expanded its workforce during the year, adding approximately 200 full-time roles, a 9% increase in headcount, while more than 5,000 new sales agents joined its distribution network. The company now employs more than 2,500 full-time staff and has created income-generation opportunities for nearly 50,000 sales agents.

“2025 was a record year for M-KOPA, with customer and revenue growth reaching new highs. We maintained profitability while reinvesting as much as possible in our products, technology and distribution to scale our reach across Africa’s massive, underserved market of everyday earners. We are still very early in our growth trajectory.”

– Faraimose Kutadzaushe, Chief Financial Officer, M-KOPA

M-KOPA said customers are increasingly using multiple products over multi-year relationships, including smartphones, digital loans and electric mobility products. The company expanded into smartphone financing in 2020 after initially launching as a provider of financed solar systems.

Since then, M-KOPA has recorded a five-year compound annual growth rate of 50%. It has also expanded into electric-vehicle financing, with more than 10,000 electric motorcycles and three-wheelers financed and currently operating across Kenya.
