Ooredoo Group Revenue Rises 6% to KWD 608 Million in Nine Months

October 26, 2026

Author: Kay-Lyne Wolfenden

The Kuwait-based telecommunications group’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 10% to KWD 255 million from KWD 232 million a year earlier. Its EBITDA margin increased to 42% from 41%, while its consolidated customer base expanded 7% to 29.1 million.

Ooredoo Group  reported a 6% year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue to KWD 608 million for the nine months ended 30 September 2026, up from KWD 573 million in the same period of 2025, supported by growth across several of its markets.

However, net profit attributable to National Mobile Telecommunications Company (NMTC) fell 29% to KWD 48 million, compared with KWD 68 million in the corresponding period last year. The decline was primarily linked to a one-off provision of KWD 23.5 million following the outcome of a June 2026 Supreme Court hearing in Algeria concerning a claim by the Central Bank of Algeria against Wataniya Telecom Algerie, one of the Group’s subsidiaries.

The company said that after adjusting for the Algerian legal provision and a one-off bad debt provision recognised in the comparative period, normalised net profit attributable to NMTC stood at KWD 72 million, representing stable performance.

For the third quarter alone, consolidated revenue increased 2% year-on-year to KWD 211 million, while EBITDA rose 8% to KWD 90 million. Net profit attributable to NMTC declined 10% to KWD 24 million.

Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Bin Nasser Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said the results demonstrated the strength of the Group’s business model and the benefits of its geographic presence.

“The first nine months of 2026 highlighted the strength of Ooredoo Kuwait Group’s business model and the benefits of our broad geographic presence. We delivered solid progress across the Group, with consolidated revenue increasing by 6% year-on-year to KWD 608 million and EBITDA rising by 10% to KWD 255 million. This growth translated into a stronger EBITDA margin of 42%, while our customer base expanded to 29.1 million, up 7% from the previous year, reflecting healthy demand across our operations. Our results were driven by strong execution in several markets, particularly Algeria, Tunisia and Palestine. In Kuwait, handset supply-chain constraints continued to affect commercial performance, impacting revenue growth while supporting profitability through a more favourable revenue mix. Reported net profit attributable to NMTC was affected by a non-recurring provision relating to a legacy legal matter in Algeria. Adjusting for this item, the Group generated normalized net profit of KWD 72 million, underscoring the stability and durability of our core business.”

– Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Bin Nasser Al Thani, Chairman, Board of Directors, Ooredoo Group

“As we move forward, our priorities remain clear. – Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Bin Nasser Al Thani, Chairman, Board of Directors, Ooredoo Group

Abdulaziz Yaqoub Al-Babtain, Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Kuwait, said the company’s operational performance reflected its focus on efficiency, revenue quality and investment discipline.

“Our results for the first nine months of 2026 demonstrate the strength of Ooredoo Kuwait’s foundations and our ability to deliver solid operational performance amid regional developments and sector challenges. The improvement in operating profitability reflects the effectiveness of our strategy to increase efficiency, strengthen the quality of our revenue mix, and maintain disciplined resource management and investment, supporting business sustainability and enhancing shareholder value. Ooredoo continues to consolidate its leadership in Kuwait’s technology and telecommunications sector, supported by strategic investments in digital infrastructure, advanced technological capabilities, and institutional expertise that positions us for the next phase of development. This approach sustains our competitive advantage and enables us to translate rapid challenges into opportunities that support growth and strengthen resilience. They also reinforce Ooredoo’s role as a key partner in achieving the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035. We continue to execute our priorities with confidence and discipline, supported by the strength of our business and the clarity of our strategic direction.
